Motorized hang gliders

It consists of a support surface, that is a rogal wing, and a chassis - a tricycle on which the crew sits and the engine is placed on it. The motorized hang glider (MZK) is controlled by the movements of the trapeze. By pulling I accelerate and descend, by pushing I slow down and climb, by pushing to the side I turn. When driving on the ground, it steers with the front wheel.

Acquisition costs are highly dependent on whether you build the aircraft yourself or buy a new factory-built aircraft. The cost of building your own is in the order of tens of thousands (the biggest item is a suitable engine, which can be obtained by modifying a car engine at a relatively affordable cost) if you do not count the hours of your own work. The price of factory-produced aircraft ranges up to 500 CZK.

Flying with MZK is one of the more affordable ways of motorized flying. The cost of operating your own aircraft depends on several factors. The first and not always the most important factor is the consumption of operating materials. This varies up to approx. 7 l/hour for single-seater MZK and up to approx. 13 l/hr for two-seaters. Another item is the cost of storing the aircraft. The annual rent of space in the hangar ranges from 15 to 30 thousand CZK. However, the MZK has an advantage over classic airplanes in the possibility of being dismantled and therefore stored (storage) in a domestic environment.

Training is carried out by instructors in pilot training centers, rather in an individual way.
The main advantages are lower operating costs, relatively simpler storage requirements for operation.
The disadvantage is a certain limitation due to meteorological conditions.
