A paraglider does not have a rigid structure. The shape of its airfoil is maintained by flight speed. It can also have two crew members. The pilot can take off by running down a hill or using a winch. A paraglider has three basic parts – a canopy, cords and straps, to which the pilot with a seat is attached using carabiners. Under suitable meteorological conditions, it depends only on the skills of the pilot whether he will fly down the hill for a few minutes, or if he will wade through the sea of air for hours and fly tens of kilometers.
Acquisition costs are in the order of tens of thousands of CZK. Operating costs are dependent on the distance you have to travel to visit suitable terrains.
Training is the shortest and cheapest of all types of sports flying equipment. There is a sufficient number Pilot Training Center, where they provide quality training for pilots.
The main advantage of a paraglider is its price, low storage space and ease of transportation.
On the other hand, the paraglider is the slowest of all SFDs and has the lowest performance, so longer trips or overflights can only be handled by experienced pilots under extremely favorable meteorological conditions. The possibility of flying is highly dependent on the weather, especially on the strength and direction of the wind.
