Plant type Hike and Fly in paragliding combines mountain hiking a paragliding
Participants start by hiking in mountainous areas with paragliding equipment that is light and compact. After reaching a suitable spot on a mountaintop or high point, they unfold their wing and take off. The goal of the race is to overcome a given course that has a start, end and turning points.
Participants try to fly as much as possible, but if this is not possible due to weather or other conditions, they must continue on foot. This type of race requires not only physical fitness, but also experience with paragliding and knowledge of meteorological conditions.
