Sport MPG

Motorized paragliding is a sport that can be practiced both recreationally and competitively. These two approaches complement each other. A pilot learns to fly, gets the necessary information for independent recreational flying, and most people are fine with it. But there are pilots who want to test their skills against others, and for them there is competitive flying. The association supports the organization of several levels of competitions, both for novice pilots and up to championship competitions. From which the choice of representation is evaluated.

Representative pilots test new technologies, engines, paragliders and other additional equipment and thus help with the development of safer and more economical machines. Manufacturers also use this knowledge in the production of equipment for recreational pilots. Without recreational flying, there would be no wider support for competitive flying from equipment manufacturers, and without competitive flying there would be no experience to develop better equipment.

Liga MPG and Czech Championship competitions are organized according to the FAI rules valid in the given year. As technology develops, flight characteristics improve, the FAI competition rules are adjusted every year. Most of the time, there are no changes to a large part of the order. Rather, the identified inaccuracies of the interpretation are supplemented and, above all, new disciplines are modified or added to the catalog of tasks.

The Association of Motor Paragliding tries to create conditions for mutual support of both recreational and competitive flying.
