On the weekend of May 23-24.5, the tenth anniversary Hike and Fly Raná race took place in Raná. Of the original 41 registered pilots, 32 showed up, due to a clash with the X-Race in Austria, which was postponed to this weekend due to weather. The venue this year was the Raná Aeroclub airport.
Some of the competitors gathered to register on the Friday before the race, there was a campfire, sausages, draft beer and then they went to bed.
On the day of the race, the weather was favorable for flying, but the running was very demanding in the high temperatures. The Sport route was 39 km on land or 30 km by air. The hobby route was about 10 km shorter. The turning points were Raná, Lenešice, Vraník and the Praga Břvany spring, where the task was to take a photo at the spring instead of signing a contract and then run to the airport for 2,5 km to avoid crossing the airport runway.
He finished first in the HOBBY category Pepa Pour with an incredible time of 2 hours and 31 minutes, ten minutes behind him came first in the more demanding SPORT category Stanislav Mayer, who fought for first place with Tomáš Bedřich until the last moment. Tomáš lost his phone at the beginning and was not visible on Live Xcontest, but he managed to record and document his route on another device and thus place second. Such a thrilling moment happened at least once more, when Michal Radzicki almost at the finish line gave full power, overtook Jirka Trpkoš and took the box for the SPORT category in third place. In both cases, the time difference was only about one minute.
In the HOBBY category, German racer Jörg Leibiger came in second place and Pavel Láznička came in third place.
Zuzana Vávrová won the women's race, and Míša Urbanová came in second place.
Ladislav Vavřín, in a curious situation, defended the rights to our free-thinking lifestyle and landing on field roads. (The rules included a penalty for landing in a field and a DSF for shortening the path across a field, but that was still not enough for the local farmer.

We would like to thank our sponsors:
First of all, I would like to highlight the Czech Golf Association, whose generous support made possible great prizes and catering even with a relatively low entry fee. The entire race was a free Czech-German event.
We would also like to thank our helpers Pavlín, Zuzana, the catering team Mir, the Aeroklub Raná for the space with an amazing atmosphere, and especially all the competitors for their participation and breathtaking performances.
