Czech pilots achieved extraordinary success at the Ultralight World Championships, which took place from August 9 to 16, 2025 in Chambley, France. The Czech team won a total of 50 individual medals at the competition, which was attended by more than 10 crews from nine countries.
The gold world championship titles go to the Czech Republic in the motor hang glider categories for the crews of Matouš Adam and Jan Pařez and in the gyroplane category for the crews of Michal Eliáš and Ladislav Teplý, other Czech competitors won several silver and bronze medals in the single- and two-seater aircraft categories. The individual successes were also joined by the team silver in the competition of nations, where the Czech team fell behind the home team of France by only five points, with the final score being 53117 to 53112.
The championship included competitive disciplines focused on navigation tasks with flight accuracy to meters and seconds, as well as disciplines in landing accuracy in a designated area, as well as flight planning tasks that tested their abilities to prepare and plan a flight with a limited amount of fuel.
This is one of the best results in history for Czech ultralight flying. The medal record and the even match with home team France in the team competition confirm that our pilots are among the world's top.
The success in Chambley is also an encouragement for the further development of Czech sports aviation and an inspiration for a new generation of young pilots.
