Stranik Cup 2025 XC PG

The 7st round of the PG XC League will take place in Straník from 11 to 5 May 2025. 1 pilots are currently registered for the race, 73 pilots have been approved. The predicted points rating for the winner in the case of 45 valid tasks is 3 points. This year, not only Czech and Slovak pilots, but also Ukrainian and Polish competitors are registered for the race.

Every year, the Slovak town of Straník offers beautiful views and challenges in beautiful nature. The competition regularly starts at the refreshments in Straník, where the winner of the competition is announced after the competition. For friends and family members who are cheering, the area around Straník offers the possibility of beautiful trips to the Fatra, Kriváň and, for example, to the Žilina swimming pool.

✅Side Cup 2025✅

After being postponed to a later date, the Straník Cup took place in Slovakia in recent days, which was temporarily renamed the Martinky Cup for this year.
After the first day was cancelled due to bad weather, the first task was flown on Friday at Martinky, Saturday was free - the weather cleared up again and today the race was flown again at Martinky.
Both tasks were flown in a relatively brisk northerly wind with typical spring climbs that were wild and strong. The temperature below the bases was -7 °C, so the pilots were thoroughly frozen after landing.
The beginning of the first task was easier, as we flew downwind. Then followed the pendulums sideways into the wind and the flight to the finish. It was essential not to let the wind carry us too much towards the end of the task, which was not done well by the Polish pilot Krzysztof Ziółkowski, who won this task with a 10-minute lead.
The finishing order was as follows:

3. Lukas Vicha
 LA 2nd task was planned as a return discipline along the main Martinek mountain range with the prospect of a difficult return, as the north wind was blowing.
The key was to gain and maintain altitude, find a good track and not let yourself get blown away between the individual ribs. Krzysztof Ziółkowski flew the best again. He kept up with Krzysztof until the last turn. Vit Santrucek, but he didn't turn the climb enough, didn't gain enough height, let himself be washed low above the terrain and the end of the task crawled on the ground. Tomáš Domaník took advantage of this, who caught up with the big loss from the first half of the race from behind on the hill and almost a kilometer above Vítek and crossed the finish line in close pursuit behind him.

✅An interesting aspect of the race is Krzystof Ziółkowski's placement in 1st place in the open and 1st place in the seniors, Vítek Šantrůček in 2nd place in the open and 1st place in the juniors, in the leading position in the organization of the race and in first place in scoring and sending photos and reports.
✅A pilot took off from Martinky on Friday and reached the finish line on a motorcycle.
✅Unlike last year, only one pilot was penalized for violating the space.
✅1 people qualified for the race and therefore for the 46st round of the Czech XC League, of which 17 were Czech men and 2 were Czech women.
