Yesterday was a fantastic day for Czech pilots in Turkey. Alanya is known for its calm environment and maximum depth of 2 cm. This year's autumn World Championships, which will be held there, will probably have the first 50 pilots leveled within a few centimeters.
And that's exactly how Czech representative Lucie Martínková felt yesterday, when she took the first step
and in the next 4 rounds it was after
cm. Lucie thus takes 4nd place overall after 2 completed rounds.

Owned by Kricnar so far 35th place and Jiří Novák 59th place
Today, the 5th round is completed, after which the pilots will be eliminated and LA 6th round will feature the best 60 pilots. The 7th round will feature 40 pilots and the final round will feature 20 pilots.
No pilot is allowed to start after 15 p.m., so today's plan is clear - the race ends at 15 p.m.!

In the year when the autumn World Paragliding Precision Landing Championships will be held in Turkey, the PGAWC World Cup was more than important, which took place there over the last three days and could show how the part of the Czech national team that participated in the competition was doing.
This is a terrain where pilots do not have to count on too much thermals, a calm environment, which is paradoxically very demanding in terms of competition, because pilots are not allowed to make the slightest mistake. Every centimeter is then properly punished by dropping several positions lower in the results list. Let us remind you that the best result in this competition is the smallest number of cm (i.e. the distance of the pilot's landing from the center) and therefore the best is to finish in the exact center, rated zero.
Our three competitors did well in the race, but for one of them, the word "good" doesn't even remotely describe the situation.
Lucie Martínková, a Czech junior and also a woman (both categories were announced at the race), started the race fantastically, with zero. Subsequently, in the next four rounds, she scored 1 cm each time and we had the opportunity to watch a great competition, when Lucka briefly found herself in 2nd place and then in shared 4th–7th place.
After the fifth round, only the first 6 pilots advanced to LA 60th. Lucie added 1 cm again and still held the position. However, after LA 6th round, the worst result was eliminated, so the positions were slightly mixed up. Lucie eliminated 1 cm, while Lennard Schubert eliminated 3 cm, his worst result, and this junior got ahead of Lucie.
In the 7th round, in which only 40 pilots competed, Lucie finally let her nerves go a little and stepped on 3 cm, which immediately took her place instead of the worst 1 cm she had ever experienced. She secured 4th place, shared with Matjaz Sluga, the Slovenian landing star and winner of the World Championship.
The end of the race was announced at the third hour – 20 min. before 15 p.m. the final 20 pilots, including our Lucky, were taking off for the start. Unfortunately, Vlastimil Kricnar and Jiří Novák did not make it into the top twenty. However, because the pilots did not have time to take off at the start, the race was ended after the 7th lap.
Lucie thus takes a fantastic 4th place overall, 1st place in the women's category and 3rd place in the juniors category, with a small incident in the end, as the organizers first announced Linus Schubert in 3rd place - habit is an iron shirt and both Schubert brothers rarely stand on the box. But then he lost his third place and it rightfully went to Lucka Martínková. Even so, it is fantastic that the 4th pilot in the Open category is 3rd in the Juniors category. The young people are clearly and indisputably taking over the reins of the landing accuracy competition.
Vlastimil Kricnar finished with a zero in 27th place and Jiří Novák finished in 71st place.
In the team competition, our athletes finished in 6th place together with Matjaz Ferarič from Slovenia.
Thank you for the wonderful race and we look forward to the next PGAWC and especially the autumn World Championships!
