The editorial is intended to be read by all
When writing an editorial, I always try to make the text that our readers read interesting. If at the same time it is possible to write in these lines an idea that has a widespread impact and the pilots, thanks to the editorial, even think about their actions, then I feel that the text has fulfilled its purpose. This time I would like to elaborate
about one of the most basic things that allows us to fly legally. Our laws state that in the Czech Republic you can take off and land on areas where the owner or operator has given consent to such activity. This fact is generally known, but few of us realize how important the sections dealing with this provision are for our flying. Recently, at the headquarters of the LAA CR, we have dealt with several initiatives that
they were concerned with this. Some of them are traditional. One example would be a situation where a group of paragliders land in the same field and the farmer managing the land is quite rightly outraged, because from his point of view this is a show of disrespect for his work and the land as such.
Less traditional is the example of sending a complaint to the management of the LAA ČR from among its members, in which they complain that someone landed on their area without their permission and want the LAA ČR to take corrective action. Well, the situation with the SFD Čebín (LKCEBI) area, which we operate, looks completely absurd
as Čebínskokuřimský spolek aviatiků, zs Here someone mowed our grass, and only in the area of the designated runway. I don't know who it was, but he probably wanted to use the area for aviation purposes, he just somehow forgot to ask the operator.
Well, never mind, thank you, we're done. In addition, we are all about beautiful flying experiences and not about arguing about who was allowed to do what, could or couldn't.
Much more serious, however, is the fact that traffic from SFD areas becomes the subject of personal disputes, whether they arise between pilots and local citizens, or between pilots. Disputes are able to exceed local importance and our members then find themselves in the position of having to explain to the authorities that the opposing party has activated, how is the operation in a particular location, whether the safety of the population is threatened, and that their flying is not operated
at the expense of someone else. If the area, or more often the starting point, is operated only on the basis of long-term local tolerance or only a verbal agreement, it is often the case
further use of this site is compromised. So, on behalf of all you pilots who want to enjoy our flying for pleasure, I would like to call on any conflicting parties in any dispute regarding flying with SZL to take stock and find ways to find a common solution. It is very easy to destroy what our predecessors have built, whether it is the good reputation that Czech aviation has always enjoyed in our country, or "just" good relations between
users and land owners. Let's realize that all airports, areas for SFD, but also launch sites for paragliders and rogals in our country are wealth that we enjoy, but we should also be able to preserve them for future generations. So let's fly and appreciate this wealth, let's use it wisely and for the joy not only of ourselves, but also of everyone else.
