On 30/5/2024 in the morning hours at Hradčany Airport (LKHRAD) there was a serious air accident involving a motorized hang glider, in which the pilot was killed and the MZK burned down. The causes of the air accident are being investigated by the ÚZPLN commission. For now, we can only say that the MZK pilot was flying at a height of several tens of meters above the ground and was making a turn, in which he fell onto the airport runway at a steep angle and the MZK subsequently caught fire. The 79-year-old pilot had not completed his training, flew without a pilot's license and without the instructor's knowledge, MZK did not have compulsory insurance.
I am reminding all pilots of the necessity of following the rules for safe and legal flying at the SFD.
