On Saturday 18 May, despite the bad weather, the second round of the Petr Tuček Navigation Cup took place at the airport in Jindřichov Hradec. Aeroklub Jindřichův Hradec hosted this navigation competition after many years, but I hope that we took on this task with honor. An interesting track leading through the landmarks of our district was prepared for the competitors. The track consisted of straight sections, but also curves, and the "cherry on the cake" was the section that led over the technical monument of our city, namely over the narrow-gauge line from Nová Bystřice to Lomů. Pilots with faster machines could thus try a light brew of the worldwide Red Bull Air Race. Another point of interest that we prepared for the crews was a turning point in the form of an AN-5 OK-RID airplane, which is located in the village of Vlkov. Our pilots certainly remember this machine, as it is the Andula we have operated for many years.
Due to the bad weather, the arrivals of the individual crews dragged on until eleven o'clock, when the briefing began. Understandably, the competition dragged on a bit and the evaluation and announcement of the winners was postponed until LA 16th hour. (complete results) to photo of the author of the article
