Jan Jareš

Honza Jareš belongs to the real "Quiet Force". An inconspicuous, but very successful pilot, to whom many a pilot in the race, as well as many an organizer turns for advice. His always good attitude, technical skills, calmness and insight have already helped in many difficult situations.

After graduating from the CTU FEL in 2008, Honza went through a paragliding course at Rana and has been flying independently since 2009. He agrees with the words of Farrar (Michal Pospíšil) who told him that flying would change his life. And he was right.

Until then, he was very active in another hobby, amateur radio broadcasting (HAM radio) and he used to go to amateur radio contests in the single operator category, where he reached the highest positions several times. After the beginning of intensive flying, radio broadcasting went into the background, with Honza only going to contests as a radio club helper.

Some form of electro obviously accompanies Honza in all possible stages and spheres of life. Not only radio amateurism, not only paragliding devices, but also co-ownership of his own company eHAMnet s.r.o., which is an internet service provider (ISP) and which he and two colleagues built completely from scratch.

So what is Honza's flying experience?

Unfortunately, after the course he was no longer of age to join the Talented Youth, so he was unable to take advantage of this great opportunity for aspiring young pilots. He started flying Orbit 2., which he replaced with Axis Vega 2. Then he switched to Gradients. Aspen 6, Aspen 5, Aspen 4 (which was also great at the time).

Then came the breakthrough year of 2018, when Honza switched to his first UP Meru, category EN-D, after a long hesitation. He has great memories of this wing, it was a great piece of kit that he used to chase CCC wings together and had a major influence on his racing career.

Since August 2021, Ozone Enzo 3 has been flying, for the first time at the Superfinal in Disentis , Switzerland, where it finished 34th overall. He flew the second task then with a 2 minute lead, but unfortunately did not win it due to missing leading points.

Honza is most proud of his team's results at the 2021 World Championships in Argentina with the 2022 European Championships in Serbia as a member of the national team.
