On November 11, Martin did not arrive on a white horse, but at first the sun was shining, but then it rained and it was cold. However, many UL pilots didn't mind at all, because they had a good reason to crawl behind the chimney. And not just any. Two events were held in Humpolec's Behind the Chimney Theater that are closely related to their flying. From 10 o'clock in the morning it was the general meeting of the Association of Ultralight Flying LAA ČR. After it ended, after a short organizational break, the announcement of the results of this year's Petr Tuček Navigation Cup and the first year of the new competition called the Ultralight CUP took place in the hall.
Ultralight CUP 2023
The announcement of the winners of this year's Ultralight CUP was moderated by Linda Mišková, and the awards were presented by the director of the LAA CR administration, Mr. Jiří Koubík.
Pilots were awarded in the Circuits and Free distance categories. This year, for the first time, the best juniors (pilots under the age of 26) in these categories were also announced.
The main discipline of the Accuracy Circuit was dominated by Michal Eliáš (2918,25 points) and among juniors Filip Vita (2834,63 points, overall 6th place)

The overall winner of the UL CUP was Michal Eliáš, because he had the best score in Circles (for accuracy), the third best performance in Total Distance and entered several flights in #KudyKam. So he fulfilled all the conditions and he deservedly became the best and most versatile pilot in the UL CUP competition.
In the photos, you can't help but notice that Michal Eliáš did not receive the travel cup personally, but his competition co-pilot (also a ULV pilot) Jitka Silná, because Michal could not attend the announcement due to sudden family reasons. However, the prizes were delivered to him and he was obviously happy with the traveling cup.
Prizes for the winners of the Ultralight CUP were donated by IDE-fly and Andy Aviation, the Řehák aviation school. The wine from the Tesařík winery was supplied by the Třebihošť Airport, and the gold bricks by the Fikar chocolate factory. The overall UL-CUP winner received a beautiful flight jacket and all awardees received clothing vouchers, other products supplied by Andy Aviation and IDE-fly and other practical items such as hats or special equipment for aircraft surface care. Other valuable prizes for the winners, namely vouchers for Rotax engine tours and wellness stays, were donated by the Aviation School Řehák from Jaroměř. A big thank you to both sponsors for supporting the competition!
Petr Tuček Navigation Cup 2023
In this year's NPPT series, results were announced in all four usual categories, ie. single and double crews always in sports and recreation class (regardless of the type of SFD). The organization of the entire afternoon and evening program, together with the announcement of the Petr Tuček cup and moderation, was undertaken by Jan Pařez.
In the recreational category of single-seater aircraft (AL1), Petr Mrštík won ahead of Petr Hošek and Kryštof Adam. Among the athletes, Marek Velát won before Václav Puža and Šárka Vondrášková.
In two-seater crews (AL2), Michal Eliáš and Jitka Silná won the gold medal on the UL whirlwind ahead of Ondřej Paclík and Petr Zápařka. A great third place was taken this year by a new crew from Jihlava with young pilot Michaela Širmerová and navigator David Peniška.
Among the athletes, Juraj Čekan took first place in AL2 with alternating navigators Michal Němec and Šárka Vondrášková. The others were Matouš Adam and Ladislav Teplý. Third place went to Oldřich and Karolín Štumbauer.
Jumper of the year was Šárka Vondrášková, who became independent from being a navigator flying with Jura Čekan and, in competition with seventeen other pilots in the sports category AL1, took 3rd place in this year's series of the Petr Tuček Navigation Cup.
Jiří Břečka, the pilot of a single-seater motor-rogal, was declared the biggest heartthrob. By awarding this title, the Sports Commission reflected his truly heartfelt approach to competitive flying as such. Jiří, without any previous competition experience, threw himself into navigation competitions with enviable enthusiasm, but also balance. After completing the first navigation competition within the NPPT in Letovice in May, where he finished second, he immediately took part in the Czech UL flying championship in Strunkovice and was also successful. Even a sharp emergency landing in the terrain during economy didn't throw him off and he finished third.
As the most active aeroclub this year, the group operating at SFD Nymburk (LKNYMB) proved to be the group operating at the SFD Nymburk (LKNYMB) area, where not only thanks to the convenient geographical location, a strong "sports cadre" of mainly younger competition pilots has recently been concentrated, and they were not absent from any of the NPPT rounds this year.

As is the case with these announcements, the afternoon smoothly transitioned into an evening filled with a pleasant social atmosphere, which the participants enjoyed until the late hours. This year, in addition to the decent environment, the controlled tasting of St. Martin's wines, which was taken care of by Ivo Lengál, helped.
