Project description

The goal of the UP Project! Untangle Paragliding was to increase participation and awareness of paragliding through a comprehensive campaign in four countries. By organizing eight weeks of open paragliding, the project successfully engaged more than 800 individuals with no paragliding experience, offering them the opportunity to learn the basics and experience the thrill of flying. This initiative not only increased awareness and interest in paragliding, but also created a platform for sharing expertise among project partners. Together, they extracted best practices and insights into a comprehensive guide to organizing and running Open Paragliding Weeks, facilitating future efforts to promote the sport. The main objective of the project is to spread awareness and build enthusiasm for paragliding, which would result in increased participation and better sharing of knowledge, which can result in developing an interest in paragliding in different communities.

Paragliding open week

More than 800 people could try paragliding for free for the first time. During our 70 open week events, participants started to familiarize themselves with the theoretical knowledge of paragliding before trying various exercises such as lifts, forward take-offs and downhill flights. The significance of the results lies not only in the number of participants, but also in the positive results of each individual session. Participants consistently reported a sense of excitement and satisfaction, highlighting the effectiveness of the training program.

From the initial stages of targeted promotion and information dissemination to the practical aspects of logistics and hands-on training, every aspect of the paragliding experience is thoroughly covered. By following the principles outlined in this guide, organizers can create an environment in which participants will be eager to continue their journey through the exciting world of paragliding.
