2. Following Michal Talavášek's call, despite disagreeing with some of the arguments presented, the SK decided to switch to the WPRS ranking for the selection of the XC representation: http://civlrankings.fai.org/?a=326&ladder_id=3&nation_id=65
Justification:
– WPRS ranking will motivate pilots more to participate in races with high-quality international competition. Scoring of the quality of the competition according to the participating pilots will be unified for all races, or its calculation.
– Pilot tactics will be aligned to maximize world success and positions.
– Increasing the participation of pilots in international FAI 2 races and the frequency of participation of individual pilots (scoring 4 races per year, which are devalued at least).
– Given that the XC League has reached a stage where it functions organizationally and is sufficiently staffed by pilots, it is no longer a priority to favor it over other races.
– The profile of the ČPP pilot does not correspond to the current format of overflight competitions. In addition, pilots have not scored points with it in the key front positions for several years. So we don't see a problem in releasing it. It also solves constant organizational problems with double counting of flights from competitions, inaccurately identified pilots (nicknames instead of real names), etc. That is. we don't mind his removal from the ranking.
– Transparency and long-term consistent settings.
Note on the MČR
We expect a drop in point profit for MČR. We consider the participation of the pilots of the national team to be important and is supported by the national team contract, and insufficiently excused non-participation may be penalized. Participation and results at MČR may be taken into account when awarding wild cards.
Representation
– The extended rep for a given year will be determined by the FAI WPRS ranking as of January 1st of that year. (e.g.: the representation for 2022 will be determined according to the status of the WPRS as of January 1.1.2022, XNUMX)
– It will be the pilot's responsibility to check that he has entered all the races on the given date. The pilot has the opportunity to draw attention to this fact by 8.1. of the given year.
Nominations for WC, ME competitions
– The nomination for the ME/ME will be determined according to the WPRS ranking according to the status three months before the race (in the same way as the qualification for the ME/ME race is determined according to FAI Sporting Code S7 A paragraph 2.2.2)
Transition period 2020/2021
– The extended repre for the year 2021 will be determined according to the order of the current rules, i.e. as of 31.12.2020, according to the original (national) ranking
