22nd FAI World Hang Gliding Class 1 Championship

Results of LA 22nd FAI WC 2019

This year, we were unable to follow up on the most successful team flying of previous years. We jumped 12th in the teams and immediately after the first day fiasco we got as high as 9th during the competition.

In the individual results, Dan Vyhnalík, the team leader for this race, achieved the best result of 21st place. Dan fought his way up from the middle of the standings and was in 14th place on the penultimate day. Unfortunately, in an unsuccessful last lap, he lost this position by landing on the flats shortly after the start. Dan tried to lead a good teamwork throughout the race.

Me, Franta and Lukáš started from the last places with zeros from the first round. I fought my way to 58th place in the end. The boys tried, but we did not manage to significantly improve our performance. The results were also affected by worse team cooperation than I know from previous years.

Jirka Nádvorník saved the honor of Czech flying and was the only one to fly to the finish line on the last day, while we all landed.

21. Dan Vyhnalík
58. Peter Polách
59. Jiří Gut
78. František Košťál
81. Lukáš Vojáček
86. Jiří Nádvorník
114. Petr Tuček (resigned for health reasons)
