Preparation for LA 2017 season does not only concern the preparation of equipment, but also all administrative requirements. The thing that we as pilots should not overlook is the fuse.

Insurance

Liability insurance (for damage caused to third parties), which is mandatory by law, is important for hang gliding. Insurance products are provided by LAA through framework contracts and can be easily ordered using online services on the website. You can find it in the menu Insurance>SFD>Liability insurance. This insurance can also be arranged for a shorter period of time, but it is financially disadvantageous. Details can be found here.

There are 4 variants:

It is definitely advisable to purchase an insurance policy with higher coverage, we know from experience that, for example, the intervention of the health service abroad exceeds the coverage of cheaper insurance policies, and the few crowns saved can become very expensive.

So I recommend using insurance World A+ for 900 CZK, possibly insurance for flying with us CR+SR for CZK 200.

Travel insurance

With travel insurance, always check whether it covers the air sports you operate, or racing participation. LAA insurance policies fulfill this condition, but this is not the rule for other insurance companies. Most hang gliding is in a group extreme sports, but there are also insurance companies where flying or specifically competitive flying is excluded.

Insurance for the whole season

Travel insurance with cover for rogal flying (or racing) is a necessity today. Even in the case of a small accident, the costs abroad can be in the hundreds of thousands. It is not reasonable to fly outside the Czech Republic without travel insurance that covers your sports activities. Within the LAA, you can find travel insurance on the website in the section online services in the menu MEMBER>Travel insurance. Again, there are several variants, for Europe an insurance policy is suitable Travel insurance 2017 – NK45-LAA-A - Europe for 1600 CZK. This insurance product is not bad and has been proven for a long time among thousands of pilots of PG, HG and other flying devices. It practically pays off already in the case of several multi-day flying trips. An alternative for traveling and flying around the world is insurance for the whole world for 4400 CZK. It is advantageous in that it is valid for the whole year, but unfortunately it provides relatively little coverage - for traveling around the world it is therefore better to take out one-time, short-term insurance - you can find this in the section below.

Single travel insurance 

Among the frequently used and verified policies that can be used are insurance from Uniqa a Union.  Be careful - it is always necessary to order insurance, covering  extreme sports and therefore not excluding hang gliding, paragliding or competitive flying (amateur or professional). The UNION insurance is the best - it is also suitable for races and representative trips around the world. So, if he doesn't travel to fly too often, it might be worth your while to travel.

ISIC travel insurance

For student owners ISIC it is possible to use travel insurance (short-term and long-term) on this card. ATTENTION the basic policy does not cover many sports and you need to arrange a version "sports insurance" The price is around 350 CZK per year and the coverage is reasonable.
