Aviation incident UL of the TL 2000 STING RG aircraft on 29.08.2015/XNUMX/XNUMX

Aviation incident of a UL TL 2000 STING RG aircraft with retractable landing gear, on 29.08.2015/18/10 at 26:XNUMX CET, on RWY XNUMX of the public domestic airport Břeclav.
After returning from a navigation flight, the pilot was landing on RWY 26 of the Břeclav airport. At that time the wind was blowing from the direction of 080°. In this meta situation, the pilot chose to land downwind. He performed the approach and landing with the landing gear open and the lift flaps retracted. During the descent and before the landing was completed, the UL aircraft was in a sunward position. The entire descent was made at low speed, without transition arch and leveling. Therefore, the UL aircraft landed hard on all three wheels of the landing gear. Immediately after landing, the leg of the nose landing gear was broken, the UL aircraft fell on its nose and the propeller was damaged.
There were no injuries to the crew.
Meteorological situation: Wind 4 m/sec. from 080°, visibility over 10 km.
UL aircraft damage: Broken nose landing gear leg, damaged propeller and retractable landing gear door.
Comment: Given the meteorological situation, the pilot chose the runway incorrectly. Landing without flaps wasn't right either. If the pilot chose RWY 08, he would land against the wind and not even be dazzled by the sun. Then, at the correct approach speed, in good visibility, he would estimate the height above the ground, perform a leveling-off and landing on the main landing gear.
