On 19.5. In 2013, a paraglider pilot had an accident on the Studenov terrain. On this east-facing terrain, an inexperienced pilot took off into thermal conditions. On approach to landing, due to the change in wind direction from the east to the south, he got into turbulence and the canopy folded symmetrically at the front. The pilot was no longer able to regenerate the canopy and fell to the ground from a height of 10-15m and suffered serious injuries.
The pilot was flying an Aile 28, Pegasus paraglider.
Even if the weather is not very favorable for flying this year, especially novice pilots should take care to choose suitable conditions in which to take off. In the event of this accident, it was more appropriate to wait an hour before the start due to the pilot's experience.
