Air crash of UL TST-Junior aircraft

On August 4.8.2012, 110, the pilot made a landing at the SFD Kraví Hora area. On approach to landing with open air brakes, at a speed of 150 km/h, he made a short cut using a slide at a distance of about 24 m from the threshold of RWY 10. This one was picked at a height of about 5 m above the ground. After comparing the UL aircraft, it was lowered. The pilot closed the air brakes. Despite this, the UL aircraft continued to settle and from a height of approx. 3 m landed hard flat on all 15 undercarriage wheels, 24 m before the threshold of RWY 15. The UL aircraft was damaged, and after a very short run of about 24 m it stopped just beyond the runway threshold XNUMX. After the UL aircraft landed hard on the ground, the engine bulkhead and the engine broke off. The rocket rescue system was activated and fired.
Commentary of LAA CR.
Even though the pilot, and in this case an experienced pilot and instructor, thought he had enough speed to pick up the glide, it wasn't true. It was very hot that day, over 30°C. That could also be the cause. When the UL aircraft is in glide, it is a stable phase of flight even at low speed. Before the chute can be withdrawn, the UL aircraft must be converted to a descent flight corresponding to flight at sufficient airspeed. We have to do the descent according to the position of the horizon on the cabin, because the speedometer in the chute may not show correctly.
After a hard landing, the rescue system was activated. This was due to the fact that the original safety cable was set under the pilot's seat and the cable continued to the cabin handle without a safety cable. Therefore, after breaking off the engine bulkhead, to which the bow was attached with a cable, the rescue system was activated. Please note that such modifications must not be made. It is an unprofessional and dangerous modification.
