– Situation in sport flying for LA 2012 season:
For LA 2012 season, with the support of FAI CIVL, only EN-A to EN-D certified gliders are approved for racing by all the organizers of the highest competitions. Uncertified parachutes of the OPEN category or the COMPETITION CLASS competition category are not permitted for PGXC races.
For this reason, only certified parachutes of categories EN-A to EN-D or corresponding equivalents (DHV SHV certification, etc.) are also admitted for the competitions of the Czech Republic and the Czech Paragliding League in 2012. Non-certified sizes of certified types of parachutes are allowed for racing if the given type of parachute has at least 3 certified sizes. Such a parachute belongs to the category that corresponds to the highest certification for the tested sizes. Competitors must notify the race organizer in advance of using a non-certified size.
Any modifications to the parachute that could negatively affect its safety characteristics are inadmissible.
Any modifications to the parachute that could negatively affect its safety characteristics are inadmissible.
Due to the development on the PG competition scene, the board and the SK will strive to have the Czech League races organized on AAT tracks (or cats cradle tracks). The Czech League races are supposed to be the first level where this way of racing will be verified and the scoring system will be tested here.
Due to its cross-country nature, parachutes of all categories, including parachutes of the open category, are allowed for the online competition of the Czech Paragliding Cup. The board and sports commission of the PG Association warns sports pilots against buying racing twin-row gliders, which are currently very cheap because their owners cannot use them for racing. The properties of these gliders are not suitable for normal flying, and after the collapse of the canopy, these parachutes may not regenerate back to flying condition.
– Proposals for our FAI CIVL conference candidate:
The position of the Union PG in principle still corresponds to the article published on our website. For the next shift in the field of competitive flying, we suggest:
To redefine the safety requirements for racing gliders of the highest category and in the future to introduce a new category of gliders intended for racing flying.
Address the rebuilding of the scoring system for competitive flying (GAP) so that classic competition tasks and AAT tasks with a similar point result can be used in the same competition.
– LAA representative in the WG6 commission
Negotiations with representatives of glider manufacturers resulted in a request to delegate a Czech representative to the WG6 commission, which is responsible for defining European standards for the safety of parachute gliders. However, before we start taking steps to obtain a position for our representative, it is necessary to obtain a suitable candidate for this activity from among Czech PG experts (engineers, test pilots).
– PGXC and PGA team leader rewards
due to the expanded activities of both team leaders in this (especially for PGXC) breakthrough year, the increased amount of remuneration was approved to CZK 15.000 for each.
